THE SHAPES
Inspired by the ideas of ways of wearing and seeing. Realised through an integration of design thinking along with creative cutting.
ONE.O began by exploring how one garment can be seen and worn in more than one particular way, different from conventional garments that often have specific ways in which they are defined - in design and dressing. Answering a thought “Why do wearers feel the need to fit into a garment of a specific size, why can't garments fit and adapt to the wearer, just like a sari could?”
‘The Shapes’ - a conceptual collection comprising universal garments that incorporate within them the concept of modularity while remaining free-size. The modularity of the shapes goes beyond providing multi-ways of dressing, to incorporate the ability to dress different body types through one garment. -
A SEASONLESS COLLECTION
An all inclusive construction the shapes are categorised as transformable as they do not require any attachments for them to look a particular way. The garment through its openings and elements evolves to fit the wearer as he/she may like regardless of their body type or size.
The garments, an abstract creation, do not look or identify with any particular garment category. Thus, do not carry any identifying names just codes, the wearer gives meaning to. The abstract construction helps the silhouette gain the ability to become an undefined element, inviting the wearer to look at it and perceive it in a way unique to them.
A garment shaped through wearer interaction.
A seasonless collection.
